MOUNTAIN BIKING: Coyote Trail

← NM WESTSIDE COMM CENTER ALBUQUERQUE NM Single Tracks →

Description

Begin by pedaling up Chamisoso Road. Follow the road (ignoring where 462 breaks off to the right). The Coyote Trail departs the road on the right side just before a gate. The Coyote Trail us usually well signed, but there are some confusing intersections to bring a map. It's easy to get kinda lost but hard to get totally lost as you're never far from a view of the Sandias to the North and Cedro Peak to the South. The Coyote Trail climbs and descends thorugh rocky pinion forest for about 5 miles before arriving at "four corners (the intersection of Coyote Trail and 462)." This makes a good out-and-back or a better return leg after climbing up 462.

Directions

Go east from Albuquerque on I-40 to the Tijeras Exit. Follow 337 through the stop light, past the ranger station (on the left) and about another mile to the Chamisoso Road on the left. There is a parking area on each side of Chamisoso Road.
